An Explanation of the Symbolism of Freemasonry

Freemasonry around the world is based upon ancient philosophies and religions. The allegories it portrays reveal truths derived from that synthesis and teach that new truths are yet to be discovered.

In this book, John R. Heisner explains the symbols used in Freemasonry. In it he explains:
  • What is a Mason?
  • Why are Masons referred to as "Freemasons?"
  • The 47th Problem of Euclid
  • And much, much more!
As the Master of his Masonic lodge John R. Heisner wrote a
series of articles explaining the hidden mysteries of Freemasonry

compilation of those articles in one easy to read volume. He later wrote an expanded version intended to be read in conjunction with the earlier work entitled Advanced Meditations on Masonic SymbolismRead together, they serve as an aid to a Mason’s personal reflection about his personal relationship to God and God’s creation.
During his journey along life’s path illuminated by the shining light of Masonic Symbolism, a Freemason is informed by his elders that he is symbolically traveling from west to east in search of that which has been lost.
Exactly what it is that has been lost has long been the subject of diligent research by Masonic scholars, who seek to identify Freemasonry’s origin, the true genesis of its philosophy and the truth or falsity about certain legends that have recently gained popularity.
While each of those endeavors is potentially of utmost importance to Freemasonry, More Meditations on Masonic Symbolism is directed toward a more personal discipline.
This book is intended to aid the Freemason in understanding how the various tools and implements of architecture selected by the Craft actually impart wise and serious spiritual truths – truths that have been known to mankind from time immemorial.

By Michael Sedio
I own a good number of books on Masonry and I still found this one to be filled with valuable information. If you're a Freemason, thinking about becoming one or just interested in the fraternity, this is the book for you.

4Good start or review
By Jack Levitt
The explanations and interpretations of the symbols, allegories and procedures of Freemasonry is not only a sound basis for non-Masons, newly-made Masons or long-time Masons, but provides many thoughts to engender continued exploration.
