A guide to understanding the symbolismMasonic Author John Heisner used in Freemasonry.

Freemasonry has been practiced for thousands of years. Its symbols, grips and words used to distinguish Entered Apprentices, Fellowcrafts and Master Masons from cowans and eaves droppers in the planning and building of many of the most stupendous edifices ever constructed by human hands.

In this book Heisner looks at the progressive science of Freemasonry, one learned by degrees only. Read it and learn about:

  • The difference between "operative" and "speculative" Masonry.
  • How the sun, the moon and the master of the lodge are in relation to one another.
  • The meaning of the All-Seeing Eye
  • And much more!
True understanding about what is and is not spiritual truth is the ultimate stage of knowledge.  Pursuit of that knowledge is ingrained in the hearts of Freemasons as an essential duty and obligation.

Advanced Meditations on Masonic Symbolism is intended to be read in conjunction with the earlier work entitled Meditations on Masonic SymbolismRead together, they serve as an aid to a Mason’s personal reflection about his personal relationship to God and God’s creation.  t-style:normal'>More Meditations on Masonic Symbolism is directed toward a more personal discipline.  This book is intended to aid the Freemason in understanding how the various tools and implements of architecture selected by the Craft actually impart wise and serious spiritual truths – truths that have been known to mankind from time immemorial.

During his journey along life’s path illuminated by the shining light of Masonic Symbolism, a Freemason is informed by his elders that he is symbolically traveling from west to east in search of that which has been lost.

Exactly what it is that has been lost has long been the subject of diligent research by Masonic scholars, who seek to identify Freemasonry’s origin, the true genesis of its philosophy and the truth or falsity about certain legends that have recently gained popularity.

While each of those endeavors is potentially of utmost importance to Freemasonry, More Meditations on Masonic Symbolism is directed toward a more personal discipline.

This book is intended to aid the Freemason in understanding how the various tools and implements of architecture selected by the Craft actually impart wise and serious spiritual truths – truths that have been known to mankind from time immemorial.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent key to Masonic mysteriesDecember 24, 2007
This review is from: Advanced Meditations on Masonic Symbolism (Paperback)
Freemasonry receives good men into the fraternity and then endeavors to make them better citizens, husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, co-workers and civic leaders. This book captures the deeper explanations about the values and virtues held dear by the Craft and taught to each and every Mason through its rich symbolism. Those values and virtues are not "secret," but can be learned and applied in everyone's personal life to insure greater chances for happiness, success and valuable service to others. I recommend this book to anyone who seeks to improve their own life, as well as the lives of those around them.
